Bored
May 6, 2009It’s tough being 12, getting dragged around with your parents as they have adult fun – which often consists of digging through stuff, junk, and other assorted treasures in thrift stores and people’s barns.
The nice thing about bored is that it lends itself to a variety of photos that are different than the average picture of your kid smiling for the camera. The only tough parts are not being able to light the photos…and not getting caught! The penalty of an eyeroll and disgusted sigh, the one that says ” he’s up to it again…will you please leave me alone!” is severe and harsh.
I got away with a couple over school vacation…got away with them until now.
The new watermark system , by the way, is my logo applied directly in Lightroom with the Mogrify plugin…a lot of geek talk for finally a system that can directly apply my logo as a watermark.
UPDATE*** My good friend and colleague Roger Ramirez ( http://chariotphoto.com ) email-screamed at me for log logo – too bold and obnoxious he said and suggested taming it a bit.
Good idea, Roger – here’s a less obtrusive version first, then the first – any and all feedback or comments are welcomed.
Thanks Roger!
I really love these two images Jay.
In the first one, I love the composition, all that blank space and Eliza laying there, listening to her iPod, oblivious to the world. Oh to be that age again, to not have a care in the world.
In the second, such a beautiful girl, bored, juxtaposed with the subject of her stare, crumpled paper, beautiful textures a canvas of light.
Really really cool. And for the record, yes I did jump on you about the logos because the pictures are so awesome, it hurt to see the logo displayed that way.
LOVE this..agree w/ “Roger” w/ logo..distracts from your art..but eh..what do I know..I help birth babies for a living..can’t believe I’ve done that for 29 years..wouldn’t trade it for the world 🙂
