Lego Robotics

Yesterday was the NH State lego Robotics State Championship. 51 teams converged on Nashua South High School to compete in robot design, performance, project presentations and team skills. In the past I’ve shot a variety of teams as a freelance assignment for the Manchester Union Leader, but this year they passed on the event so I stuck with just 1 team. (more…)

Western Pennsylvania wedding

Watching the Steelers thrash the Patriots today got me to thinking about a wedding I shot this summer in the mountains of Western Pennsylvania, not far from Pittsburgh. Ashley and Ben came home ( they both work in the Middle East) for their wedding and were married in the mountains at Ashley’s parents country home. An amazing couple blessed with equally amazing family combined to make an unforgetable weekend. (more…)

I teach some photography classes at McIntosh College in Dover, NH., and early this week we went to The Exeter Inn ( www.theexeterinn.com ) for a field trip in seeing and working with light.

Director of Sales and Marketing Tom O’Gorman had set us up with complete access to three guest rooms on different sides of the Inn so we could pick and choose the light we wanted to work with. There was this incredible light coming in through the blinds and Mel was gracious enoung to sit for a fast portrait. (more…)

Nina and Rob

Early on a recent Sunday morning I hooked up with Nina and Rob to shoot engagement photos – we spent 3 hours walking all over Boston, shooting tons of photos and having a ball. They are one of the easiest couples I’ve ever worked with – and so comfortable with each other – and a camera – that the whole shoot was a cakewalk. Their wedding should be a super time if the esession is any indication. (more…)

Into the 21st Century

OK, maybe I came in kicking and screaming, but I’m here – a blog to go with the website that’s been up for a few years – and is undergoing a major overhaul, but more about that later.

I’ll try not to be too serious here, there are tons of people already being super seriouys on the blog rolls. Instead, I’ll share photos – from weddings, engagement shoots, portraits, outtakes of editorial and journalism shoots as well as the ones that get published. (more…)
