"Adam" rests his head on Bill McPhee while the farrier trims the horse's hooves before shoeing. "I've been a blacksmith for 35 years," the Epping resident said, "and I want to keep going right up to the end." McPhee said the best lession he learned was from his mentor, dr. James O'Connor, an Epping equine vet. "He taught me horses are a lot easier to get along with than to fight them - they're bigger and stronger than us!"
