Jeff Roth of Merrimack drills a hole in the foot-thick ice on Green's Pond during the Horseshoe Pond Fish and Game Club's ice fishing derby. While Roth was preparing the hole his nephews were snacking and drinking hot chocolate. "Last year we got skunked - we hope to do better this year." he said.
